Well the mirror's not actually on the wall in this photo, but it's on the wall in my furniture booth! I found it in a thrift store and thought it was very pretty. I decided to give it a more shabby chic finish using a new-to-me technique with petroleum jelly.
|I applied a base coat of graphite over the raised details.|
After it was dry I rubbed it with petroleum jelly.
|I painted the mirror in Old White and then rubbed off the paint |
on the raised areas to reveal the darker base color.
|The white paint was easy to remove |
from the areas with petroleum jelly.
|There are still hints of the gold here and there.|
|I think it looks charming paired with my French inspired table!|
