How to Get a Fire Glazed Ceramic Look without a Kiln

Seashell, Seashell by the Seashore!
Today's project is about achieving a fired-glazed look for bisque pottery without a kiln. My daughter picked up this bisque sea shell at a thrift store for a dollar. She wanted to use it on her desk for storing pens, but she wasn't happy with the plain bisque finish. Luckily she brought it with her on a visit and I was able to finish it for her.

1940's Vanity in Scandinavian Pink

Vintage 1940s vanity painted in Scandinavian Pink

This vanity was given to me as a gift for my birthday. Really I'm just so easy to shop for! Simply go to a thrift store and find some old furniture and then check me off your list, ha ha. The bird cage under the vanity is a tealight candle holder and was a gift, too.

Vintage Serpentine Dresser

Today's project is a lovely vintage serpentine dresser. It was structurally sound, but the finish in most areas was in rough shape.

Vintage Dresser Gets a Second Chance

This dresser literally didn't have a leg to stand on! I spotted it at a thrift store and initially passed it by because it was priced so high at $200. Seriously? I went back a few weeks later and there was a drastic price reduction to $30. At that price it was worth a gamble to see if I could save it!

Modern French Floral Print Goes from Damaged to Vintage

Modern decor with a twist!
Today I'm sharing another project of modern decor with a twist. If you like vintage, weathered, aged, or shabby chic items then you know it's sometimes hard to find the right piece for the right price. But thrift stores are overflowing with modern pieces that you can easily transform to get the look you want.

It's Time for Another Makeover

It's so easy to give modern decor a unique and vintage look! I've been in the market for a vintage clock to use for photography staging. While on a recent trip to visit family I stopped by a thrift store with my mom and found this Parisian clock. It's not exactly vintage (OK it's not vintage at all), but for only $3 it was worth a chance to transform it.

Window Seat Bench

I found this window seat bench the day after I returned from a vacation at the beach. I was in the mood to give something a coastal look and felt this was the perfect piece.
