I've been in the market for an antique sleigh bed for my guest room. But I haven't had any luck finding one that is the right size and, more importantly, also fits my budget. So although it's not a sleigh bed, when I spotted this daybed I snatched it up. The size, shape, and price were perfect. I may have done a happy dance when I slapped down $30 for it!

Today I'm sharing the finished pair of nightstands that I posted a preview of a few weeks ago. The nightstands were not initially a set, but both have a similar scale, so I applied a similar finish to coordinate them as a pair of shabby chic nightstands.

This table and chair set has been in a friend's family for over 40 years. She remembers it being used for many family gatherings in the country. My friend needed to make space in her home, and she's been trying to sell it over the summer without luck. She asked me to see what I could do with it, and I agreed to help her get it sold.

I literally just finished saying I didn't have room for any new projects when my husband said he was going to the Restore for Habitat for Humanity to drop off extra supplies. He asked me if I wanted to ride along. I bet you know where this story is going, but in case you don't know me I jumped at the chance, and once I spotted this darling table I couldn't leave it behind!
This post has lots of photos of the process, so if you want to skip this part then just scroll down to the bottom to see the "after". Or you can click HERE to see a slide show (with cheerful music!) from my Facebook page. I can't take credit for creating the slideshow because my phone app did it automatically, but I hope you enjoy it.
